Following the success of the recent oxygen admin course we ran within the branch I am now proposing that we run a practical rescue management (PRM)course, dates yet to be confirmed. The course will be over two days, day one up here in Woking (hopefully using the same venue as for the oxygen course) and day two at another (hopefully coastal) location for a day of rescue management exercises. The course will also allow for three elements towards dive leader to be signed off as well as members gaining some valuable experience in casualty handling and incident management. Whilst no diving is required for this course full open water scuba will be necessary for day two.
You will also be pleased to know that the course does not have a final written assessment, but candidates will be assessed throughout the weekend by a team of highly qualified instructors (you know who you are!).
I anticipate costs for the two days to be in the region of fifty –sixty pounds, that will include packs, room hire, fuel (if we use the RIB), sadly we’ll not be able to provide lunch but tea and biccies will be on hand!
It is a really enjoyable course, open to sports divers and above, and you will get a lot out of it so please let me know at my email address below if you are interested.
